Student Ministries
Relevant Experiential Authentic Life-Changing
Vision Statement:
We seek to reach the students of Sun Prairie area where they are, discipling and empowering students and student leadership to know God’s relevant and unconditional love, to serve and to witness to this world with that same love, and to live faithfully with Him in every stage and area of life.
“Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.”
-1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
Who we are:
Our Philosophy of Ministry:
The student ministry of Living Water Church seeks to be intentional and impacting in everything we do. One of our greatest philosophies is that if we seek to be relevant, experiential, and authentic in every thing we do, then God will be faithful in changing all of our lives (the leadership included). In unconditional love and unwavering truth, we must be real in our relationships with Him and with each other in order for His fruit to truly be born from our lives.
The Focus 4:
We feel that God has called Real student ministries to a specific mission in the Sun Prairie area: to impact people’s lives with God’s real love and help their lives become transformed through Him. To achieve this we have created the “focus 4,” the 4 areas that we will choose to target and pursue as specific goals in our ministry of impact and life-transformation. (Philippians 2:1-5)
Ø Outreach through ministry partnerships
o We are not called to love the World in Christ’s love alone; by partnering with other church and para-church ministries we can build more relationships, impact those lives on a deeper level, and reach students more holistic impact, growing all ministries as a result. This also includes high impact events and ministries that we can use to pull students out of their comfort zones and reach them on an even deeper level. Acts 2:44-47
Ø Weekly meetings and worship
o We feel that one of the best ways to impact students is to weekly pull them out of their “world” and help them encounter Christ unhindered through teaching, fellowship, prayer, and worship. We also want to help these activities to become a part of our daily lives. Acts 2:42-43, 1 Tim 2:1-8
Ø Leadership and Discipleship development
o Although God loves us in our brokenness He does not desire to leave us there, broken and hurting. We feel that God wants us to build life-on-life relationships intentionally, raising up and training leaders and teachers in unity. We seek to empower students and workers to serve God fully and passionately together in the gifts and calls that He has given us through biblical teaching & fellowship. This involves contact work with students, teaching them to serve, and helping them find ministries and organizations that can train them even further. 1 Tim 4: 6-16, 1 Cor 12:4-7, 1Thess 5:11-24.
Ø Service opportunities and trips
o We feel that as Christians, we are called to serve and witness to this world in the same love in which Christ serves us. Because of this, we are dedicated to giving students and leaders of the area opportunities to serve, address, and experience different cultures, ages, and social issues of the area, the country, and of the world. 1 Jn 4: 7-12, Acts 1:8, 2 Thess 3:6-13
